This pastor's 14 year old daughter was raped by a tribal man in the village and he demanded the girl become his wife. Of course this request was refused and hence...the persecution. He rallied the whole village against the Christians. (See previous post)

These and other cruelties have been imposed on Christian converts in this part of India.
But God is faithful. There are now 3700 Christians in this larger tribal area.
Pastor and Tara Daniel (right, shown in our home this December) have seen great success since starting the work in 1992.

Prayer Need:
PRAY...for these persecuted Christians as they are starting all over again in another village!
PRAY...that each one will be strong in faith and undeterred in their Christian life!
PRAY...for the ten new pastor trainees who begin training in January and for finances for them!

Urgent Prayer need for church in Tribal area of India

Pastor Daniel and Tara Vattiprolu (r) lead 25 churches among tribal peoplein central India. This letter was received on Oct 28th. The tribal people are illiterate and are into witchcraft. The lower picture is a tribal man who is made literate and the trained in the scriptures and sent to evangelize a tribal village.

Greetings in the most precious name of our Lord and SaviorJesus Christ.

Here one of our pastors W. Pethuru had faced a terriblesituation at Durda Padu Village.

He started a branch church at Durdapadu and moved therealong with his family. A man belongs to the same village trapped the daughterof Pethuru. She is 14 years old and the man took her to his home and rapedher.

He is an unbeliever. Pastor Pethuru brought his daughter homeand he was asking about the situation. Then the man came to Pastor Pethurualong with his parents and village elders to ask to marry girl. PastorPethuru got angry with them and refused to give his daughter to be marrybecause he is unbeliever. Then the whole villagers attacked Pastor Pethuru andhis wife and beat them very badly and they dragged the girl along with them. The girl escaped and came back to her parents. The next day we sent one ofour pastors Peter and he brought Pastor Pethuru and his wife and his daughterto us.

Then the villagers isolated all of our believers and came to believer's housesand threw out the water vessels from their houses. Believers sufferedwithout drinking water for 2 days along with their children. Then all of uswent to their village to solve the problem. The believers want to leave thevillage because of the villagers torturing.

Yours in Christ,

Tara Vattiprolu

P. If you are forty years old you are considered old. (Which stands to reason, as the average life span of a man is thirty-eight!) There are thousands of orphans, thousands of widows, thousand of blind, deaf and crippled children. There are no schools or social services for these children. There are few jobs and just a little hope. There is still some instability on the border with Ivory Coast. The nation's resources are being sold and exploited by bigger countries and the money is not now, nor will it in the future, get to the people. At least they are not shooting at the moment. That is a start.
Rev Emmanuel Jones and his wife Ramona oversee these homes and their Champions Home of Hope Orphan home and school. What a blessing they are.

From: Joy Reyes Reach Youth Ministries, Manila, Philippines
To: Malcolm Lee <famolee@sbcglobal.net></famolee@sbcglobal.net>

Again, I thank the LORD for HIS faithfulness. HIS provisions come at the time that we really need it most. Thank you for you are being used as HIS channel of blessings to the ministry. The School Year 2011-2012 just opened this week and we are really campaigning for school supplies for about 1,300 children. We have provided for about 844 already including our Mindanao & Visayas areas. We also have facilitated 58 scholars from elementary, high school and college. Last year, we have eight graduates also from these areas also. GOD is good and HE really loves the poor.

Please continue to pray for us especially for one of our full-time staff, who is now suffering from complications from his diabetes. He has been battling this for the last year and a half. Lately he is in and out of the hospital, his hemoglobin is very low and he needed blood transfusion and then he reacted to it. Also pray for financial support because we never thought that it is this expensive.

We have opened a new area here called the Pasig Line. Short life spans comes with this dusty grueling work. We have supported this ministry for about 15 years. We have watched this school expand and enlarge from 150 children to 500. Better still faith in the Lord Jesus provides forgiveness and a structure for growth in faith and the family of believers provide for protection and nurture.

Malcolm and Jo Lee were able to connect with 185 pastors and workers from India, Papua New Guinea, Africa, and Europe at a world conference on missions. These are called "Memo" clubs that appeal this special interest group. Many bicycles are donated. This work is done primarily with volunteers. The material needs are met with donations. Homeless Rescue Services have been part of the support team for at least 20 years. We would strongly encourage you to pray for this energetic team. We would also encourage gifts to support this great work.

For more info contact www.homelessrescue.org

You may donate on Local Independent Charities website

HRSI -- An update from one of our ministries...

Talk about pastoral care…here in is.

Report from Jason Nightingale…
After weeks of traveling and speaking God's Word among His most gracious people, I have found a quiet place to sit and write you. A place far removed from the chaotic world scene, with its rising food prices and growing hunger. The world in which our little ministry is, by God's enabling, striving to come to the aid and comfort of widows, orphans, refugee and street children.

We happen to be serving in some of the neediest places in a very needy world ... Liberia, West Africa, with its ninety-five percent unemployment and thousands of displaced persons struggling to recover from over fifteen years of civil war and its attendant destruction. Ghana, West Africa, where we are travailing with the fifty thousand Liberian refugees being forced back to Liberia without the hope of a better life. We have ministered among these poor people for over six years and we will continue with them, Lord willing, as they return to their war torn land. Great changes are at hand for them and for the ways we minister to them. India, with a small crisis at hand, in the urgent need of a new place for our orphan home and spectacular growth in our village churches. Kenya, after riots and food shortages and rapidly rising prices for everything, Kimawachi and Paula Mwasamaili continue to serve the poor children (and adults) they have dedicated their lives to. And now Haiti, as we try to get a new orphan home (My Father's House Haiti) up and running in the midst of food riots and ongoing 'troubles'.

Please pray for our children (almost five hundred in our care) our widows, our refugee and street children; the 'least' in the world. The 'least' are in a precarious place. Most are living at a level of bare necessity. Some have been able to live on the dollar a day that they are able to make, others on two dollars a day. But now food prices are skyrocketing. In the places where a dollar a day could give you a small meal a day, it now takes a dollar and a half. It’s the same everywhere. Fifty to a hundred percent increases in the cost of basic foods.
In the US we spend an average of seven percent of our income for food, the lowest percent in the world. God has greatly blessed us.
Could you imagine being in a place where, no matter how hard you struggled and worked, you spent almost every penny you made just to stay alive. And now, suddenly in only a few months, it takes more to even eat. More that you don't have. The widows and the orphans and the street kids are at the bottom. They were begging and sharing the garbage with the pigs and the cows in the filthy streets and now there's less to share.
When Esther hesitated to intercede, on behalf of her people, Mordecai reminded her that she too was a Jew and unlikely to escape the coming slaughter. He then asked her to consider whether perhaps God had not put her in such a place of access, privilege and possible influence for just such a time and situation........'for such a time as this?'
I wonder if God has not put us in this land of abundance 'for such a time as this.'?

Liberian Widows, in Ghana

Perhaps God would remind us of how precarious our current situation is. We could be hit with any of a thousand possible weather or other type of catastrophes and be in the same situation as those who now grovel for our leavings. Even we could become the least. Won't you please seek God and see if He has not provided, in you, an answer for some who are now in need.
Not from your lacking but from your abundance...at such a time as this?

International Children's and widow's Ministry Report

This is a time of great change, fear, concern and

confusion. The Ghanain government was exposed, found out, in the area of misappropriating refugee funds. When the Liberian refugees protested, some were arrested, some were jailed, and some were deported back to Liberia. There were early morning raids, beatings, people running into and hiding in the bush, public pronouncements by the President of Ghana and the Interior Minister, threats, demonizing of the refugees, visits by Liberian authorities, more threats, International wrangling and, now, a general agreement that the Liberians must go home soon. A few will stay and pay for the resident permits that will allow them to be in Ghana and work. But Ghana has become a dangerous place for Liberians to be and most will leave as soon as they are able. The Liberian government and the UN have promised a ship in a month or so ... They will be returning to a nation that has ninety-five percent unemployment and which has no housing, running water or electricity. Most who are going back lost everything they had in the war (some have been refugees for almost twenty years!) and, in many cases, still fear for their lives. They will return to nothing, with nothing and with no money.

Ghana Church

While the Camp at Buduburam still has inhabitants we will continue to conduct
Church services. These children are victims of political displacement and war. Many have no contact with family. We would like to provide food and oil for the widows one more time. We have suspended our Bible School Program at Buduburam but will continue at Krisan Camp, as Krisan is not primarily a Liberian/Sierra Leonees camp. (There are up to ten nations represented at any one time, and we evangelize among many Muslim’s with freedom and fruitfulness) We will continue the Church at Krisan and the widow's ministry but these are considerably smaller undertakings at Krisan than at Buduburam. We will, of course continue to care for our orphans and they being older teen- agers, will return to Liberia.

We are attempting to finish a House for orphans at Buduburam Village, (outside the camp) where we have property, and have been offered a five thousand dollar matching grant. A man we know has offered five thousand dollars, if we raise another five thousand, to construct a house on the foundation that was laid on our property. He has done this before and we were able to finish the foundation and hang the gates on the property. With all the changes in Ghana the one constant is the needs of orphans. We have been caring for many orphans in the refugee camp. Most of these are now older teen-agers and will be returning to Liberia, but there are many young Ghanian orphan children who have great need and no one to meet those needs. We have the property and the staff (both Ghanian and Liberians with resident permits) and should finish this project to the glory of God.
Please seek the Lord as to how he might use you in this effort.

LIBERIA
Liberia continues to be a place of great need, with high unemployment (95 %!) and no services for the people. As in all the developing world food prices Ghanian Church
have skyrocketed. There are over ninety thousand disarmed fighters with no work and little hope. We are doing a little to help and hopes in Christ to do more.
The boys (young men) at My Father's House Liberia continue to advance in their education and physical development. We are seeking avenues of training for them in productive vocations.

Liberian Church

There are a number of teen-age girls, that we would like to care for, and the need grows as the little orphans grow up and can no longer stay in the orphan homes. We will be beginning an elementary school in a village area that will serve three villages, currently without a school of any kind. We have planted churches in each of these villages and their one request has been for a school for their children. The Government will not provide it. As the Lord allows, we will fund teachers, materials and food and the villagers will construct class rooms. What a wonderful opportunity to affect these villages for a lifetime.
Pastor Zoku has developed a sound and thriving work called the Children Rescue Center in alk about pastoral care…here in is.Ganta, Liberia. He provides housing, food, education and Christian instruction to over eighty orphan children. They have constructed structures for sleeping, eating and school. The following pictures are from that ministry. Brother Zoku and his helpers are doing a marvelous work in a very difficult place. Christian compassion provides for all of these needs and lets them experience genuine love.
Many in Africa are victims of the loss of parents because of AIDS related death.

Street Children
Four thousand street children are provided meals each week in the slums of Manila, Philippines. There are medical
clinics to meet all kinds of unmet needs.
Parents of these children receive training and many programs are provided year around.
Volunteer doctors and nurses provide free services with the goal of breaking the grip of poverty and homelessness.

Widows
When a woman looses a husband in many cultures they are abandoned by family as well. Although this is a terrible injustice and cannot be comprehended by the western mind, it is common in many countries overseas. In Ghana, West Africa over 300 widows are receiving life-sustaining food with literally no one else to care for their needs.
In India scores of widows are cared for as well. The resources are all but non-existent in most of these countries.
With the provision of food, health care products, clothing, and shelter the India women above are spared terrible suffering.
Refugees
West Africa is a hot bed for war, rebellion and great political unrest. The Budaburam camp is home to over 40,000 refugees from the wars in Liberia and Sierra Leone.
These live on 21 acres, with little water or sanitation facilities. Their refugee status does not permit them to work.
Most of us cannot imagine the deprivation they endure.
The team there is doing remarkable acts of compassion in an almost impossible situation.
We are now involved in building a compound that will serve the refugee population on the outskirts of Acra, Ghana.

Lepers
Here is another group of sufferers who are mostly ignored. Perhaps it is because of fear of infection or because the culture has simply abandoned this population.
Here is a picture of a lady who has lost her hands. Thank God there are caring Christians who have reached out and helped her.

Conclusion:
Your kind gifts to Homeless Rescue Services will greatly benefit so many hurting people in our troubled world.
Thank you for considering a gift to the troubled of our world.

Bangalore, India work abong Slum children

We had small programme for the children. The Elim church is having regular Sunday school for the children. Every six month we are having a special programme for the children such as children’s retreat, bible Quiz, choreography, skit etc. Through these we are molding and preparing from various community children to come with one fellowship to know Jesus is the only one God. Many of them are accepting Jesus and they are attending our worship in our church. Through these children we are able to meet some of their parents and we are able to give them gospel.

Continued work among street children
STREET CHILDREN: As I mentioned in my previous news letter we are working among the street children Rag Pickers and also children abused by child labor, previously we went to their places to find them and give the gospel and the meal. But now, God has enabled us to start a small school among these children. Around thirty five children are coming everyday to learn about Jesus as well as the regular school subjects. Mrs. Glory sargunam ( Pastor. Timothy’s wife) and Mrs. Fathima Antony are taking care of these school. We are providing for their study materials as well as we are giving them lunch everyday. For the medical camp to teach them their personal Hygiene. Please pray for these special programme, so that this work will be elaborate through this Gods name will be glorified.

Widows are being helped
Widows programme: We are having a small group of senior widows, those who are neglected by their family members. Every week, we are having a special get together, also we are sharing them the love of God by the way of meeting their needs giving special meal, through that we are teaching literacy ( to read and write). So some of our church educated people are voluntarily giving their service to poor widows. Through this ministry two of them are able to read and write very well. Please I ask you to remember this ministry in your prayers.

Word from Salem India
We were able to arrange special meetings in churches, prisons, orphanages, hospitals, lepers colony and in villages. The following will give you some idea of the activities of some of the affiliates in the four corners of the earth.

INDIA

Bangalore
HRSI has six ministry affiliates in Bangalore. This is a city of some 15,000,000 people where it is estimated that 10 to 11 million live in the slums. The population is about 97% Hindu and 1.5% Christian and 1.5% Muslim.

Gospel Revival Outreach Ministries is a church with 25 satellite churches, a pastor training program, a Christian School K-12 with 900 students, and an orphanage with 62 children. They are currently building an orphanage building on 4 acres of land 20 miles from the city. HRSI is helping with the construction costs and ongoing costs with the orphans. All of this growth has occured with little western assistance. Dr. Victor Paul is both pastor, evangelist, educator, and church and mission planter. He is also the representative of City Mission World Association. (CMWA). He has planted 14 additional missions to the slums in cities in India.

Bangalore City Mission is a church, an orphanage of 17 children, and a Christian school with 200 children in attendence. They are a social service provider to the low-cast slums of the city. They educate children from a quarry town where the people have been relegated to work with no hope of ever inproving their lot. Most die of disease in the quarry environment where children work from a very young age. Sister Violet Raj and son Jonathan, are providing leadership for this ministry. They provide for the orphans in their personal home. They have recently build a 3 story building to use for services to the poor. Four other providers in this city are giving help to refugees, lepers, drug addicts, and other services to those who are poor and underprivileged.

Other India locations

Three other ministry locations in India are in Salem, Bombay, and to tribal peoples in Andra Pradesh.

AFRICA

Cry Cameroon Ministries Our key interest is with The Abundant Life Children’s Home which serves the needs of orphans. Many children are orphaned by the AIDS epidemic. The first priority in 2003 was to raise $15,000 to build a new orphanage. They are now occupying this facility. The former facility accommodated 30 orphans and had a grass thatched roof. Love and security are provided for these dear little ones. 66% of the children are at the orphanage because of HIV-AIDS. One hundred children will be served by the fall of 2006.

There is great emphasis with education. This includes 3 High Schools and 23 Elementary Schools. Many of the teachers work for low salaries, or are willing to forgo salaries because of their commitment to the children. Most of the children are poor and cannot afford tuition. A Bible Seminary is operated for the training national pastors. It is a small but effective ministry to 15 students. They operate on limited funds. Much more could be accomplished with gifts to underwrite tuition.

At a Blind and Deaf Center 50 children are served at this center. They are taught skills in farming, weaving, and sculpture. Many are not being served because of lack of facilities and staffing.

Church planting and nurturing of existing churches is a large endeavor of Cry Cameroon as well. Additional finances are a major need at this time.

Wordsower Ministries, Ghana, West Africa Thousands of boys and girls receive benefits of education at schools as well as at orphanages for poor and abandoned children. A present project is to develop a complex in Ghana to serve poor refugees who have no medical services available to them. There are over 43,000 refugees who live on a small 23 acre compound. We are pleased with the opportunity to partner Jason and Sharon Nightingale who are dedicated Christians and provide help to so many in Jesus Name.

Capetown City Mission, South Africa HRSI provides for services to HIV-AIDS babies who have no one to care for them. These services are unusually challenging due to fragile health of the little ones. Sick and crying babies who have been brought into the world suffer from the sin of adults. The love and compassion and mercy of Jesus is nowhere more clearly seen as in these workers who serve dying infants.

Reach Youth, Manilla These boys are part of a group of 3000 street children who are provided meals and much more each week. The children's mothers are taught hygiene, parenting, homemaking, and other coping skills. An orphanage and many Christian programs are part of ongoing services.

OTHER WORLD-WIDE LOCATIONS

We have locations in Pau Pau New Guina, Haiti, Guyana, South America, the Ukraine, and at two sites on American Indian Reservations.

Your financial and prayers are greatly desired and needed.
We encourage financial gifts at this time. So much can be done with so little overseas. A dollar can be stretched to do the work it would take ten do here in the states.

Homeless Rescue Services, Inc.923 View Drive Richmond, CA phone 301-9418 HRSI is a California non-profit corporation that provides tax-deductible receipts.
