LIBERIA, WEST AFRICA...report by J.Nightingale.
( We are helping to support 3 childrens homes in this country.)
Liberia is one of the poorest nations in the world and the average person lives on fifty cents a day. If you are forty years old you are considered old. (Which stands to reason, as the average life span of a man is thirty-eight!) There are thousands of orphans, thousands of widows, thousand of blind, deaf and crippled children. There are no schools or social services for these children. There are few jobs and just a little hope. There is still some instability on the border with Ivory Coast. The nation's resources are being sold and exploited by bigger countries and the money is not now, nor will it in the future, get to the people. At least they are not shooting at the moment. That is a start.
Rev Emmanuel Jones and his wife Ramona oversee these homes and their Champions Home of Hope Orphan home and school. What a blessing they are.
